Thank you and good evening

What a day to finish the domestic football season. At the end of the day, the status quo proved too hard to buck in some places - AmaZulu are in the Caf Champions League and Pirates have sealed Caf Confederation Cup football again, while Chiefs clung on to a place at the top half of the table too.

Sundowns Are Champions

They've done it! Sundowns are the winners of the 2020/21 PSL league title after a superb season! The Brazilians have seen off Cape Town City to confirm their coronation.

It is elation of the highest order. They are deserved champions of South Africa for the fourth consecutive season.

Congratulations Masandawana!!!

Pirates qualify for CAF Confederation Cup

FT: Pirates 0-0 TTM

Josef Zinnbauer's side were held to a goalless draw by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila but they still finished third, securing a Caf Confederation Cup spot for next season.

Grobler wins Golden Boot for the first time

Chippa United 1-1 SuperSport United

Bradley Grobler has won the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot for the first time in his career today. Peter Shalule and Thabiso Kutumela both failed to catch up with the SuperSport United talisman,  seeing him take the award for most Premier Soccer League goals this season, 16.

A major achievement for the striker.

Grobler is also the first Matsatsantsa player to win this award.

Sundowns and Chiefs win

Elsewhere, Mamelodi Sundowns overcame Cape Town City 3-0 while Samir Nurkovic's first-half effort secured a top-eight spot for Kaizer Chiefs at the expense of TS Galaxy.

After being held to a 1-1 draw by SuperSport United, Chippa United have finished 15th and are headed for the promotion/relegation play-offs.

The majority of games are back underway now, on the final day of Premier Soccer League action for the 2020/21 season.

Orlando Pirates remain third, as it stands, and will get another shot at continental safari and Kaizer Chiefs are in the top eight.

Chippa for relegation play-offs and Black Leopards relegated.

How are your nerves, Amakhosi fans? Samir Nurkovic's solitary strike separates the two sides at the break, and right now, Kaizer Chiefs are in the top eight.

Elsewhere, Sundowns are also in the lead [1-0] at home to Cape Town City while Baroka are also 1-0 up against Swallows. Every other game is also at the break with no goals scored except Black Leopards - who are playing for pride - who are leading Blomefontien Celtic 1-0.

Who will win the #DstvPrem Golden Boot?

SuperSport United’s Bradley Grobler is the man to catch in the top-scorers list.

Nodada may have played his last Cape Town City game against Black Leopards

Thabo Nodada will not feature in the Citizens' last game of the season.

Amakhosi Line-Up

Here's what's on the line today 👀

Let me try to keep it simple...

Sundowns have secured the Premier Soccer League title and AmaZulu are guaranteed second - a maiden Caf Champions League spot, but Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows are fighting for the last Caf Confederation Cup spot. Pirates, who play TTM, start the day in third place with 49 points. Arrows are on 46 points and will need nothing less than a win in their encounter against Stellencbosch FC. Stellenbosch, on the other hand, could be dragged to the PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoffs if they fail to win today. Chippa United take on SuperSport United in their last game and not only do they need to win, but they also need results elsewhere to go in their favour, Stellenbosch to lose.

In the race for a Top-8 spot, Kaizer Chiefs will need to overcome TS Galaxy or else the Rockets book their place in next season's MTN-8 competition.

Josef Zinnbauer, Orlando Pirates, May 2021

Orlando Pirates will be without Abel Mabaso and Siphesihle Ndlovu for their fixture against TTM, while Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele will miss out on the match against TS Galaxy. The Rockets are also depleted with Ebrahim Seedat and Given Msimango both expected to miss the clash against Amakhosi. Read More Here

It's the final day of the season!

Greetings and salutations! The final day of the season is here in the Premier Soccer League.

What a year it has been. We've seen hegemonies and records broken, as Mamelodi Sundowns enjoyed yet another successful league campaign as they went on to become the first team to win the league title in four successive seasons.
