Valencia celebrate against Real Madrid
Marcelino Garcia Toral’s men have been lethal upfront lately and will look to maintain the momentum when they lock horns with Abelardo’s side

Valencia play host to Alaves in their Spanish Primera Division outing on Saturday afternoon at the Mestalla as they hope to continue their winning streak on their turf.

Since their exit from the Copa del Rey, Marcelino Garcia Toral’s men have not tasted defeat, winning six of their last seven games, including a 2-0 victory over rivals Sevilla last weekend.

They are fourth on the log, 11 points above Sevilla and one point adrift of Real Madrid which makes this duel a crucial one, given that a win here could see them climb to the third spot in a case where Zinedine Zidane’s men lose or draw against Girona.

Valencia have won their last three outings on their turf and as such LionsBet tips them at (1.45) for victory.

A chance for both sides cancelling one another out is available at the price of (4.60).

For Alaves, they are just three places above the relegation zone having lost 17 of their 28 games in the Spanish top-flight this term, including back-to-back defeats in the hands of Real Sociedad and Real Betis.

Going by this poor form, the betting firm has tagged them as underdogs at (7.00).

Goals will be expected to be at a premium here, knowing that the last six meetings between these two has produced three goals each which make the odds of (1.65) for three or more goals a good offer.

In addition, both sides will be expected to score, given that their previous five meetings have gone that way and bookies offer (1.90) for a repeat of that.

The first half result in three of their last four meetings ended in draws and punters willing to make cool returns can back a stalemate at the end of that period with LionsBet putting up a juicy odds of (2.35).
