Mamelodi Sundowns striker Lebohang Maboe says that his work ethic has helped him to settle down quickly at Chloorkop, but admits there is a lot to improve on.

The Bafana Bafana striker joined the reigning Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions from Maritzburg United in August this year and has already established himself as one of the first team regulars.

"I was expecting it actually, knowing the fact that I am working hard on and off the field, so it's something that I expected,” he told the media.

Having joined a club which has star players such as Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi, the 24-year-old forward also revealed that he has been waiting for his opportunity.

“I was just waiting for that one opportunity and when I got it I did not disappoint,” he added.

"It's about believing in your ability and believing how good you are that keeps you on the field, and keeps the coach believing. I believe in myself and that's why I am playing,” continued the attacker.

On the other hand, Maboe has already netted two goals under coach Pitso Mosimane, but Maboe insists he still has to improve on his finishing.

"I need to be clinical infront of goals and make the right decisions in the final third," he concluded.

In addition, the Bafana international did not feature against Nigeria in their penultimate 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday afternoon at the FNB Stadium as they drew 1-1.

However, he will hope to return to the starting XI when they face Paraguay in a Nelson Mandela Challenge clash on Tuesday night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Coming back to club level, the striker will hope to get back on the scoresheet when they travel to Leones Vegetarianos of Equatorial Guinea in a Caf Champions League match on November 28.
