Kunle Odunlami & Ajibola Otegbeye return as Sunshine Stars spank Nasarawa United

The duo played crucial roles as the Owena Whales got an inspiring home win against the Solid Miners in Akure

Kunle Odunlami and Ajibola Otegbeye were on parade for Sunshine Stars as they defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League encounter.

Jide Fatokun’s flick plus Sikiru Alimi’s late minute strike handed the Akure based side maximum points as they continue their battle against relegation.

The game saw the return of Otegbeye to the starting line-up after a failed mission to Akwa United. The enterprising forward had hoped to get into the limelight but an injury-plagued spell ended his stay with the Promise Keepers.

Otegbeye gave a good account of himself but was replaced in the 76th minute by Omodu West who made his debut for Henry Abiodun’s men.

Despite the win, Sunshine Stars it in 18th position with 28 points from 24 games.
