KV Oostende give Bafana Bafana midfielder Jali second chance

The Kustboys coach stated that the 26-year-old, who remains a key member of the Bafana Bafana squad, is like a new signing at the club

Koninklijke Voetbalclub (KV) Oostende have given South Africa international Andile Jali a chance to relaunch his career at the Belgian club.

The midfielder was dropped from the Oostende starting line-up after expressing his desire to leave the club during the last July-August Transfer Window.

Oostende head coach Yves Vanderhaeghe has stated that Jali will be given another chance since club captain Sebastien Siani is away on national duty.

The central midfielder is part of the Cameroon squad at the ongoing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Gabon.

"The past six months were not enjoyable for him, but the stage is now set for a new start for Jali," Vanderhaeghe said on The Sowetan.

"He has shown what he has up his sleeve and is again available for selection," the Belgian tactician continued.

"He's a bit like a new signing for us and because we are missing Siani in his position, we might use Jali quite quickly," Vanderhaeghe concluded.

Jali, who recently regained his full fitness, has made only one appearance for Oostende this season.

Oostende are scheduled to take on Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian First Division A game on Saturday.
