Mumbai coach Jorge Costa acknowledged that they are under pressure to win as they are facing Kerala Blasters who started their season with a win. The coach also took a dig at the fixture list and having played their opener only two days ago.
On facing Kerala away from home, Costa said, “At this moment, we are in different situations. They have three points, we have zero. This is not an excuse but this is the reality that we played two days ago. We are flying today. It is not the same. Even between these two games, I could do nothing with the players. Today I was flying in the morning.
“It is true that tomorrow, we have this pressure to get some points. Because Kerala play at home and after their last game, they will have pressure (to win again).”
Costa suggested that he was disappointed after losing to Jamshedpur in their first match. “I am not happy with the result. Our first half was nothing special. Second half we created a lot of chances to score. In the last five minutes, it was horrible. In the end, we lost the game and lost three points. I am here to try to win the three points tomorrow,” said the Portuguese coach.
Costa refused to comment on the progress of talented defender Vignesh Dakshinamurthy and said that two of his defenders are still injured. “I don't like to speak about individuals. Maybe after the game, but not before it. Eleven players will start tomorrow. I will try to play the best eleven. Sehnaj is okay (to play). Anwar (Ali) and Davinder (Singh) are injured.”
