The newly re-instated champions of the ISL, Atletico de Kolkata, have seen a trident of their players move back to their homeland and rejoin clubs in the lower tiers of their league rungs.
Javi Lara, the 31-year-old winger, has joined Cordoba in the Segunda Division. He will play his football at the Nuevo Arcángel, Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain. Los Califas were last seen in the Primera Division in the 2014-15 season, when they were relegated. They are now coached by Luis Carrión and sit 16th in the Segunda Division table.
José Luis Espinosa Arroyo, better known as just Tiri, has joined Spanish Segunda Division B team Marbella FC. The 25-year-old joins the Mehdi Nafti coached team who reside in the third tier of Spanish football.
Ofentse Nato, the two-time ISL champion with the Sourav Ganguly co-owned Indian Rojiblancos, will join the reigning Botswana Premier League champions Township Rollers FC. Incidentally the club are also the nation's most crowned champions winning the the league 13 times.
Unió Esportiva Llagostera-Costa Brava, a team that participate in the Spanish third tier, have snapped up FC Pune City's Josep María Comadevall, better known as Pitu. The Spaniard made just four appearances for the Orange and Purples in another disappointing ISL campaign.
His Pune City compatriot Bruno Herrera Arias meanwhile, has linked up with another Spanish team San Fernando CD, Segunda División B participants. They play at the 12000-seater Bahía Sur in Andalusia.
Finally, Kristian Vadocz, an important midfielder with Mumbai City FC for their ISL campaign, has joined Kitchee SC. The Hong Kong-based side are one of the most successful teams n the region, came second only to Eastern in the Hong Kong Premier League last season, while they begin participation in the Asian Football confederation's (AFC) Champions League for the first time in their history, this year.
