The People’s Elephant’s duo has affirmed their readiness for the all-important Caf Confederation Cup tie against the Moroccans

Enyimba’s Ifeanyi Anaemena and Theophilus Afelokhai have stressed that they have overcome their niggling injuries and are getting ready for the return leg of their semi-final fixture of their Caf Confederation Cup.

Anaemena managed to finish the first leg tie played at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba after he sustained a hamstring injury towards the end of the game when they had already used up their three substitutions while Afelokhai was replaced by Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the second half.

Speaking after helping his team to a 6-1 win against Ngwa United FC at the Enyimba International Stadium, the defender is happy to be back after missing the quarter-final of the Federation Cup due to the same complaint and that he is looking forward to their return leg tie with Raja Casablanca with high hope.

“I am doing fine now. I had to miss the quarter-final of the Federation Cup against Kano Pillars to enable me to recover fully before the game with Raja,” Anaemena told Goal.

“I am very much alright now and I am optimistic that the tie has not ended despite the home loss to them. We have been training very hard and are doing our utmost to be in the right shape for the match.”

Afelokhai who also skipped the Federation Cup quarter-final loss to Kano Pillars said that: “I have fully recovered and I have been training without issues for the past few days now. It was important that I was rested for the game with Kano Pillars and it has allowed me to recover fully.

“We are all working towards the same target which is to ensure that we surprise our opponents in the second leg. We are not deterred by our first leg result and we are all focused on the same goal which is to secure a positive result that will take us to the final in Casablanca next week.”
