Erik Hamren’s side have failed to register a shot on target at the tournament so far and now face the prospect of elimination

On Friday, Sweden delivered another insipid performance against Italy and were beaten by Eder’s strike in the 88th minute.

And in their defeat, Sweden became the first side in history not to have registered a shot on target in their first two games of a European Championship tournament.

The misfiring Scandinavians are now also the first team since 1980 to play two consecutive games in the European Championship without directing a single shot on target.
