The 20-year-old joined the Groupama Stadium outfit from the Sky Blues and he isn't ruling out a return

Lyon’s Pape Cheikh Diop says he would love a return to Celta Vigo.

The Senegalese midfielder joined the Balaidos Stadium outfit when he was just 14 making 22 appearances and scoring just a goal since he signed his professional career in 2015.

And with the midfielder set to make his debut for the Kids this weekend after the international break, he hopes sometime in the future he'll be able to return to the Spanish top flight outfit.

“It is sad to leave Celta and the city of Vigo as it feels like my home,” Diop told Squawka.

“I have enjoyed my time here and I want to thank both the club and the fans for helping me and giving me so much support.

“I have many special memories but the two standout moments were my debut against Espanyol in Balaidos and my first goal against Granada.

“I have always said this club is my home and I wish to return here one day and retire whilst at this club, but right now Lyon is an excellent opportunity for me.”
