Khalid Jamil-led East Bengal have signed Dilshod Sharofetdinov as a replacement for 25-year-old Armand Bazie. Bazie, who was hurriedly signed by gaffer Khalid, was shown the door due to his unimpressive form in the league.
Sharofetdinov has formerly represented T-Team FC which plays in the Malaysian Premier League. During the years 2004 and 2008, the midfielder plied his trade for FC Dinamo Samarqand in the Uzbek League, making over 90 appearances for the side.
It is believed that the 32-year-old’s appointment was recommended to the management by Syrian international Al Amna.
Placed third on the league standings with 23 points from 13 matches, East Bengal will lock horns with Minerva Punjab away from home on February 13.
