Sydney FC have been denied what appeared to be a clear penalty despite VAR intervention against Wellington Phoenix on Wednesday.
After the ball bounced dangerously inside the Nix box, Louis Fenton's outstretched hand made contact with the ball and VAR stepped in to tell the on-field referee, Daniel Elder, to review the incident.
A faulty monitor on halfway however meant he had to watch replays on the big screen and he decided against overturning his original call to not award a penalty.
The decision angered Sydney FC players, who were watching the exact same footage as Elder, and left social media in flames.

The controversial decision comes just days after Sydney FC were on the right end of a questionable send off against Newcastle Jets which saw Mark Bosnich suggest the Sky Blues have been getting the rub of the green from referees.
"Last year on social media I had a massive argument on social media with a Melbourne Victory fan who was saying Sydney FC seem to benefit from all these close decisions. You know what, he may have a point," Bosnich said.
"This has got to be sorted out and as quickly as possible."
Well it's safe to say, the tables have now turned.
