With seven games remaining, Jele knows that Pirates need to ensure that they register a win as they look to keep their hopes of winning the league title alive.
“I think it’s very important for us as players to fight harder in the game against Sundowns,” Jele told Isolezwe.
“I am happy with the fact that we don’t have too many players that are injured. We played a friendly game and that has helped our teammates to get game time and get ready,” he added.
“It’s very important to take this game seriously and fight to get the three points because we are at home,” concluded the skipper.
Heading into the match at Orlando Stadium, Pirates currently sit third on the log with 40 points from 23 matches, and a win should see them level on points with Brazilians at the summit.
Meanwhile, echoing Jele's sentiments, striker Luvuyo Memela stated the importance of remaining mentally strong.
“It’s very important for us to be mentally strong and not allow any factors to destabilise us,” added Memela.
“We have seven games remaining until the end of the season and we must not be under pressure on the field of play, but take the game against Sundowns like any other game,” he concluded.
