Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr is crossing his fingers with high expectations that his lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge’s injury is not serious.

The Rwandan international picked a knock in Gor Mahia’s 5-1 victory against SS Assad in the FKF Cup n Mombasa.

“Despite getting injured Jacques (Tuyisenge), scored. He wanted that goal so badly and let’s hope he is fine.”

Kerr was impressed by the attitude of the players with the Englishman adding winning his first match of the knockout tournament.

“First half we scored three goals but it could have been six had the field not been a mess.

"Second half, credit to our opponents who had nothing to lose and gave it their best,” Kerr told the official Gor Mahia website.

“I’m happy… the attitude of my players is great because these games are always difficult regardless of who the opponents are.

After the Shield match in Mombasa, the defending league champions are set to face Sony on Wednesday in Kisumu in a league tie.
