Gilbert Selebwa: AFC Leopards in pain for losing striker Vincent Oburu to injury

Ingwe Team Manager admits that they will miss services of the striker, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season

AFC Leopards striker Vincent Oburu was involved in an accident and was injured in the process.

With about five key players out injured ahead of the FKF Shield Cup semi-final against Sofapaka on Sunday, Ingwe needed most of the players ready. Team manager Gilbert Selebwa says the team has definitely felt the pain of losing the striker.

“The coach had his tactics on place against Sofapaka and Oburu was part of the plan, so his absence is a blow to us. It was the last thing we could have wanted at this time considering the number of injuries. He is a fast and hardworking player on the pitch who gives us a different dimension.

“We will have to work with the available players hoping to get the result that will take us to the next stage of the competition,” Selebwa told Goal.

The other semi-final will pit Ulinzi Stars against Kariobangi Sharks.
