The Black Princesses will open their campaign against the hosts on their fifth appearance at the world championship

Ghana will face hosts France at the group stage of the 2018 Fifa Women's Under-20 World Cup.

The development comes following the tournament's final draw on Thursday.

On their fifth straight appearance at the championship, the Black Princesses will square off against the hosts, New Zealand and the Netherlands in Group A.

The Africans will kick off their campaign against the French at Stade de la Rabine, Vannes, on August 5, before facing the Netherlands and New Zealand on August 8 and 12 respectively.

Ghana have been ever present at the championship since debuting in 2010.

Their fortunes, though, has been nothing to write home about as the Princesses are yet to make it out of the group stage.

While France finished second at Papua New Guinea 2016, New Zealand's best performance came at Canada 2014 where they made the quarter-finals.

The Netherlands, meanwhile, will be making their debut at this year's event.

Ghana beat Cameroon 4-1 on aggregate to qualify for this year's competition.

Elsewhere in Thursday's draw, Africa’s second representatives Nigeria have been pitted against Germany, China and Haiti in Group D.

Korea DPR, England, Mexico and Brazil make up Group B, while USA, Japan, Paraguay and Spain are in Group C.
