The 19-year-old suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his right foot on February 13 during a Premier League game for City versus Bournemouth.
He subsequently underwent surgery in Barcelona, sparking fears his Premier League season could be over just weeks after arriving from Palmeiras in January, but the Selecao starlet has confirmed he will be back in action in around eight weeks.
"When will I be back? Two months from now, God willing," Gabriel Jesus confirmed via social media.
The teenager has hit five goals in six internationals for Brazil, ending 2016 as Brazil’s joint top-scorer that year, despite only making his senior debut in September.
He also hit three goals in three Premier League starts for Man City, relegating club idol Sergio Aguero to the bench, prior to his untimely injury.
Jesus will miss March’s World Cup qualifiers versus Uruguay and Paraguay, but expects to return to the Selecao in June as the Chevrolet Basil Global Tour takes the five-time world champions to Melbourne to meet Argentina and Australia.
