Bafana Bafana are scheduled to take on Guinea-Bissau and Angola in upcoming friendlies.
While there is still uncertainty surrounding the appointment of a new man at the helm of the national team, former coach Shakes Mashaba’s assistant, Owen Da Gama has taken over the team on an interim basis.
Da Gama has revealed that Itumeleng Khune will captain the team during the friendly games, with Dean Furman deputising alongside Thulani Hlatshwayo and Hlompho Kekana.
In the build-up to Saturday’s encounter against Guinea-Bissau, SuperSport United captain and midfielder Furman has urged his teammates to pledge their full support to Da Gama.
“Our job as players is to play. I understand that Owen Da Gama will take the reins for these two matches," Furman told SunSport .
“As players we need to be professional and get behind him," he said.
“We also need to put up a good show in these matches and continue the good run of form we are experiencing at Bafana,” Furman said.
According to recent reports, SuperSport coach Stuart Baxter and Ruud Krol are the frontrunners for the vacant Bafana post and Furman has iterated that whoever takes over will have the full support of the players.
“Whoever is coming will have our full support,” Furman concluded.
