Football Kenya Federation has told KPL to make their own decision on the weighty matter of hooliganism witnessed during the Mashemeji Derby .

FKF president Nick Mwendwa now says that they the federation has no powers to do anything over the vice and instead has told the league runners to sort out the matter.

AFC Leopards fans destroyed properties on Saturday after Ingwe succumbed to perennial rivals, Gor Mahia in the derby.

While Mwendwa had previously promised to give the way forward on the matter at a press conference on Tuesday, the football supremo says the FKF has no mandate to make a decision concerning the running of the league.

“That is a matter for KPL to decide. We don’t have the authority to make any decision since the court clearly spelled out the matter,” Mwendwa said.

The Sports Dispute Tribunal in May pronounced that only KPL has the mandate to make a decision on matters touching on the running of football in the country.

KPL has since forwarded the matter to its disciplinary committee that is expected to come up with a verdict in the coming days.
