The Anambra Warriors striker is unhappy that his knee injury kept him out of action when he was in best form of his life

FC IfeanyiUbah attacker, Godwin Obaje is convinced that he would have added to his three goals tally had he not been weighed down by the knee injury that sidelined him for two months and he is hoping that the Anambra Warriors’ visit to Kano Pillars will herald his return to scoring goals.

Obaje made a cameo appearance against Plateau United over one week ago when he was introduced in the last five minutes of the duel played in Nnewi, and the 2015/2016 highest scorer is confident that his second game since his return from injury in Kano on Wednesday will bring back the feeling he had at the beginning of the season when he scored three goals from the opening three matches.

“I will just say that I am delighted to return to action and it was an amazing feeling when I came on against Plateau United,” Obaje told Goal.

“I hope to play a good part in our game with Kano Pillars if I am considered for the game. It was so unfortunate that I had to stay out of action when I was in the best form of my life and I was having high hope that I was back to my best.

“I thank God that I have recovered now and I know that gradually I will regain the confidence I had at the beginning of the season. The game with Kano Pillars is a good game to mark my return in style and I hope to give my best if I am called upon to do so.”

The former Wikki Tourists marksman is optimistic that their visit to Kano can be memorable and that they can grab their second point from their away games at the end of the tie.

“I know everything is possible in football and even though Pillars are very good at home, I know that our present form can hurt them even before their fans. We got a point against Rivers United not too long ago and the way we beat Plateau United in our last game indicates that we can hold our own against any team,” he disclosed.
