Ghana midfielder Albert Adomah was on target as Aston Villa pipped Fulham 2-1 on Saturday, dedicating the goal to his daughter who was celebrating her birthday.

The 29-year-old lost his place in Steve Bruce's set-up few weeks ago, but has never looked back since regaining the manager's trust as they hope to return to the Premier League.

Former Chelsea skipper John Terry opened the scoring for the Claret and Blue Army by the 23rd minute after connecting a pass from Conor Hourihane but Stefan Johansen pulled level for Fulham in additional time of the first period.

Adomah scored the winning goal four minutes after the break, his fifth in nine appearances. The former Middlesbrough star combined with Ivorian Jonathan Kodjia before slotting his effort beyond the reach of goalkeeper David Button.

Adomah lasted 86 minutes and was replaced with Birkir Bjarnason.

Villa have now moved to fifth position on the log with 22 points, seven points behind leaders Wolverhampton and Wanderers and will travel to St. Andrew's Stadium to play Birmingham City next weekend in a local derby.
