Gareth Southgate's plans have been thrown into disarray by call-offs and our tipster is backing Die Mannschaft to capitalise by winning at Wembley

England welcome Germany to Wembley in a friendly on Friday night as both sides are assured of their place in Russia next year.

The Three Lions eased into World Cup 2018, collecting 26 points from their 10 qualification matches, but Gareth Southgate's side were not immune from criticism, with some sections of the media far from impressed by the style of play that the Three Lions produced; there were suggestions, too, that England would be found wanting when they came up against stronger opposition.

That particular theory will certainly be put to the test over the next few days, for England face the top two teams in the latest FIFA rankings, Germany and Brazil, in a tantalising international friendly double-header at Wembley; even before a ball has been kicked, though, Southgate has suffered the setback of seeing a number of key players pull out of the squad through injury, with Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Jordan Henderson all absent.

First up for the Three Lions is Friday's fixture against Joachim Low's world champions, and the Germans will arrive in London in good spirits, for they have won each of their last seven matches whilst avoided defeat in their last 19.

The Germans can be backed at 23/20 (2.15) with dabblebet to continue their fine form with a win at Wembley, while the odds compilers offer 9/4 (3.25) that Low's side settle for a share of the spoils; two of Die Mannschaft's last three friendly fixtures has ended all square.

England have won five of their six matches on home turf under the stewardship of Southgate and dabblebet go 23/10 (3.30) that the Three Lions come out on top in this clash, while the same firm offer 9/2 (5.50) that the hosts keep a clean sheet in victory - it is a selection that would have landed in seven of the last eight matches that England have won.

Germany won 1-0 on their last visit to London - in 2013 - and Low's men also won 1-0 in the most recent meeting between the nations, and dabblebet offer 13/2 (7.50) that the Germans win by the same scoreline on this occasion, while the same firm offer just 4/5 (1.80) that there are fewer than three goals in the game.

Die Mannschaft have come out on top in three of their last four matches against the Three Lions and, given the remarkable depth of the squad at Low's disposal, the Germans could be good value to make it four wins from five on Friday.

A second-string German side eased to victory in the Confederations Cup this summer, while a number of familiar faces were absent when the world champions claimed a comfortable win against Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier last month, with Low's charges cruising to a 3-1 victory in Belfast.

Southgate's squad is stretched and new faces Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham and Joe Gomez are amongst those who could feature for their country in this game, but the Germans should well prove to be too strong for English exuberance and dabblebet's 23/20 (2.15) quote for an away win may be a solid selection ahead of Friday's fixture
