This was revealed on Thursday during the launch of the tournament that is making a return after five years. Previously, the annual football tournament which was struck off the calendar in 2012, was known as Sakata Ball.
Wanyama will be the brand ambassador of the Safaricom sponsored games, whose winner will also walk away with Sh1 million on top of the London trip. The first season of the competition will kick-off on July 3. “We launch this unique football tournament that is set to change the way the fans and players interact with the game.
“There is need for football fans in this country to take ownership of the sport as they simply cannot sit on the sidelines anymore," said Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore, during the launch.
The winning team will get a chance to go for an international training camp in London next year.
