Ulinzi Stars will navigate their league match against Wazito minus keeper Timothy Odhiambo.

A number of players have been hit by malaria and bacterial infection during the team’s lengthy stay in Nairobi and after three were earlier ruled out, the coach was hoping for a late recovery for the goalkeeper but on Friday he had to concede the recently called up Kenyan international would be unavailable.

“The stay in Nairobi has not been kind to us; we have had good preparations but a bug hit us and I was hoping that at least Timothy would recover to be part of the team in this coming game,” Nyaudo told the club’s official website.

“He also had malaria and is still weak and can’t be passed fine for the game, which to us is a big blow.”

Earlier, the coach had confirmed midfielders Daniel Waweru, and Boniface Onyango as well as defender Benson Sande will miss the game with illness and Odhiambo’s blow now leaves the coach with goalkeepers James Saruni and Jacktone Odhiambo to choose from.
