Black Leopards have announced the departure of head coach Joel Masutha.

The now former Lidoda Duvha mentor has found himself under immense pressure following a string of bad results.

Leopards are currently without a win in their last five games and this has led to Masutha handing in his resignation, according to the club.

The Limpopo-based outfit were most recently on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat against Cape Town City, and that has seemed to be the tipping of the iceberg.

Masutha was in charge of Leopards as they earned promotion through the National First Division play-offs, but his maiden forage into the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has been less than ideal.

With the search for a new coach now set to begin, Leopards will hope to move clear of the danger zone.

Leopards find themselves just a point above the relegation zone as they are sitting in 14th place on the league table.

The club took to their social media account to reveal the latest news regarding their coach.

“Joel Masutha resigned today from his position as Head Coach of Black Leopards FC. issued by spokesperson : Ramunenyiwa Berry,” a statement issued on Twitter read.

Meanwhile, Masutha is now the second coach to leave his position in the past two days. On Sunday, Ajax Cape Town announced that Muhsin Ertugral was stepping down from the helm of the Urban Warriors with immediate effect.

Ertugral looked to propel Ajax immediately back to the top tier of South African football after his side were relegated last season.
