It’s no small rivalry but the West African giants have just enough in them to get the desired result this weekend
It’s the clash of Africa’s two biggest countries as South Africa and Nigeria renew their rivalry in Group E of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Bafana Bafana would be disappointed they could not get maximum points in their double header against lowly Seychelles last month which hindered them from taking top spot.
However, having thumped Nigeria 2-0 in the reverse fixture last June, they are (2.20) with BetKing to get another one over their continental rivals.
The Super Eagles will be in buoyant mood having seen off Libya home and away by an aggregate score of 7-2 to move to the summit of the log.
All that is needed is a win in Johannesburg at odds of (3.90) and the three-time African champions are at next summer’s finals in Cameroon.
A stalemate can’t be written off in this game which is why the same firm is placing odds of (3.05) for that to happen.
Gernot Rohr’s men might have fallen to Bafana Bafana in the reverse fixture but that is their only loss to Staurt Baxter’s side in all meetings.
The West Africans did not have their strongest squad on the occasion but with the situation much different now, they do look good to avoid losing at the FNB Stadium at odds of (1.68) as per BetKing.
