Harambee Stars registered identical 1-0 wins against Ghana and Malawi respectively in the space of three days.
Despite missing some of the key players, the Sebastian Migne led side showed some glimpses of brilliance in the two games. Midfielder Anthony Akumu has told Goal what the coach told the players before playing.
“The coach told us to work as a team, play as a team and be ready to work for one another. I think that has been a uniting and motivating factor for us, we are more compact and that has contributed to the results we posted in the two games played.
“The two wins have given us hope and renewed motivation and belief in our game, we will give the best.”
Kenya will face Ethiopia in another Afcon qualifier next month hoping to continue with their good run.
