The Dragons have a poor record in friendlies on the road and our tipster thinks there's plenty of value in opposing an early goal at the Elbasan Arena

Having finished second in the Nations League group behind Denmark, Wales will aim to end the year in positive fashion with a win in Albania.

Ryan Giggs' side missed out on promotion from League B but there are some encouraging signs for the new manager. The hosts for their part suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Scotland on Saturday to confirm their relegation from League C after a disappointing campaign.

Latest odds

Albania have lost five and drawn two of their last seven home friendlies and SportPesa price them at 49/20 (3.45) for the win.

Wales for their part have lost six and drawn one of their last seven away friendlies and are offered at 5/4 (2.25) with the draw at 21/10 (3.10).

Team news

Defensive duo Paul Dummett and James Chester will be missing through injury for the Welsh, with Cardiff's Chris Gunter set to start and win his record-breaking 93rd cap.

Gareth Bale is set to feature too, although the Real Madrid forward may not play the full 90 minutes. Albania remain without one of their main goal threats in Armando Sadiku, with the Levante forward sidelined following a knee operation.

Albania's defeat to Scotland was their heaviest in over seven years, although it worth remembering they played the majority of the game with 10 men.

The side will be keen to put in an improved showing, although they have really struggled in front of goal, failing to score in six of the eight matches they have contested in 2018.

Albania v Wales Betting Preview

Wales' games meanwhile tend to be low scoring affairs with 14 of their last 18 encounters in all competitions seeing less than three goals and there is plenty of reason to makes us oppose goals at the Elbasan Arena.

Tips and predictions

Under 2.5 goals is priced at just 10/19 (1.53) which gives an indication of how likely this is to be a low scoring encounter.

More attractive odds can be had by opposing an early goal, and the price of 20/29 (1.69) for no goal to be scored before the 30th minute looks highly tempting.

Each of Wales' last five goals scored have come after the half hour mark, while Albania have only scored two goals this year, both of which have come in the second half.
