Qatar's Al Sadd SC reached the semifinals of the AFC Champions League after a 5-3 aggregate win over Iran's Esteghlal. After a 3-1 win in the first leg, they would go on to draw the second leg 2-2. 

It was Akram Afif who was the star of the show for Al Sadd. He scored a goal and won the penalty which led to the second goal as Al Sadd held off Esteghlal's fightback. 

Afif opened the scoring with a low, angled drive on the night. He would pop up again when Al Sadd were 2-1 down on the night to win a penalty and ensure the game ended 2-2 and his side progressed to the semifinals comfortably.

Afif had five attempts on goal on the night, highlighting his threat. He also had a passing accuracy of 86 per cent and created three chances for his teammates.

He was simply sensational on the night for Al Sadd and is aptly named this week's Toyota Asian Player of the Week!
