Sligo Rovers sign Estonia international Sander Puri

The 56-time Estonia international has joined the Bit o' Red after being without a club since his York City contract expired
Sligo Rovers have confirmed the signing of Estonian winger Sander Puri, subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old has been without a club since being released by York City in May 2014, having previously lined out for Premium Tartu and Levadia Tallinn in Estonia, Larissa in Greece, KuPS in Finland, and Scottish club St Mirren.

Puri is an Estonian international, making his debut in 2008 against Latvia before going on to play 56 times for his country. Puri has experience of playing in Ireland, having lined out at the Aviva Stadium for Estonia's Euro 2012 playoff with the Republic of Ireland in November 2011.

The wideman also has three goals for his national side, and has played in the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League.

Meanwhile, Bohemians continued their pre-season preparations with a 2-1 home loss to Wexford Youths. Jason Byrne scored a late consolation for the Gypsies after Aidan Keenan and Peter Higgins gave the visitors the lead.

The friendly was at risk of being called off, but was deemed playable despite a frozen pitch at Dalymount Park.
