Greek Super League side PAOK have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland international Liam Lawrence from Portsmouth.
Lawrence agreed to leave Portsmouth last week in order to help the beleaguered club's resale, and has joined PAOK on a two-year deal after passing a medical at the Toumba Stadium. The 30-year-old was also forced to leave Fratton Park last season, going on loan to Cardiff City to help ease Pompey's financial burden.
A 15-time Ireland international, Lawrence will link up with PAOK ahead of the new Greek Super League season. Last term, PAOK came fifth to qualify for the Europa League, and will meet Austria's Rapid Vienna in the Playoff Round after recording a 6-1 aggregate victory over Israeli side Bnei Yehuda in the Third Qualifying Round.
Lawrence could make his PAOK debut on Tuesday, August 14th, as Giorgos Donis's side take on Skoda Xanthi in their last pre-season friendly.
