Al Hilal and Cameroonian Edet Otobong part ways

The attacker has been released from the Sudanese top flight side following his poor performances since joining the club from Egypt
Sudan giants Al Hilal have decided to cancel their contract with Cameroonian striker Edet Otobong following his less than ideal performances for the club.

The decision was taken after a meeting between the team's officials and the player with his agent Islam Al Mallah present.

Otobong joined Al Hilal Omdurman from Egyptian club Ittihad Sakandari for $1.2 million (€961,000), but never managed to live up to the performances required within a team that was competing in the Caf Champions League.

The terms of the player's release sees the striker relinquishing $150,000 (€120,000) that would have been due to him in the two years that were left on his contract with Al Hilal.

The 25-year-old featured in the Cameroon Under-23 side at the All African games, but has never represented the Indomitable Lions at senior level.
