Andres Iniesta equals Pep Guardiola appearance total for Barcelona

The attacking midfielder has now featured exactly as many times for the Champions League holders as his coach, and is likely to overtake the 41-year-old against Real Madrid
Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has equalled head coach Pep Guardiola's 384 official first team appearances for the Catalans following his participation in Sunday's 4-1 La Liga win over Malaga.

The attacking midfielder came through the ranks of the Barcelona youth academy, and made his official debut in the Champions League game versus Club Brugge in October 2002.

Iniesta has since developed into a key player at the Spanish giants, and has featured in 257 La Liga games, 73 Champions League matches, 38 Copa del Rey encounters, six Spanish Supercopa meetings, five Club World Cup games, three Uefa Cup matches and two European Supercup encounters.

The 27-year-old midfielder has so far scored 37 goals for Barcelona in his career.
