Guus Hiddink has confirmed that Diego Costa has been taken to hospital to have scans on a shin injury he suffered in Chelsea's 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday.
The Spain international, who scored his seventh Premier League goal of the season in the draw, suffered the injury late on and could now be a doubt for next Sunday's clash with Arsenal.
“Now he is in the hospital and they will have a check now with a scan. We don’t know the result yet,” said Hiddink.
"We hope Diego is coming out of the hospital in good health and we will go on as are for the moment."
Chelsea went two behind against Everton following John Terry's own goal and Kevin Mirallas' strike. Costa and Cesc Fabregas pulled Hiddink's men level before Ramiro Funes Mori put Roberto Martinez's side back in front, but Terry netted again in injury time to rescue a draw.
