Darragh Markey made an immediate impression during his trial with Celtic by scoring in a against Kilmarnock.
The St Patrick's Athletic youth player was identified by the Scottish Premiership champions' scouting network as a potential addition and invited to Glasgow in order to take part in a 'bounce game' so that the club could have a closer look.
And Markey, 18, wasted little time in demonstrating his ability as he found the net for the Celtic youth team in their 5-3 victory on Sunday.
The former Cherry Orchard player made four league appearances for Liam Buckley's side in 2015 and also featured in the club's Leinster Senior Cup and EA Sports Cup campaigns.
According to Gerry Carlile, Markey's agent, Celtic are not the only club keen on the youngster. Carlile told Press Association that "a lot of clubs" are interested in securing his services.
