Derry City manager Kenny Shiels expects Mark Timlin to leave the club, but has agreed new deals with defensive duo Aaron Barry and Ryan McBride.
Timlin has been the subject of transfer speculation with rumours linking the winger with St Patrick's Athletic. Shiels believes that a move to the capital is likely and does not believe he can keep Timlin at the Brandywell.
"I’ve spoken to Mark and it looks like he’s going to Dublin," Shiels told the Derry Journal.
"So I understand that’s out of my hands and I can’t control that.
"He’s done well for Derry City and it’s unfortunate we’ve lost such a good player."
However, McBride and Barry will both remain at the club for the 2016 SSE Airtricity Premier Division after signing new one year contracts.
Shiels is also hopeful of keeping Patrick McEleney at the club for another year.
"I’ve touched base with all the players on the roster," Shiels said. "I’ve arranged meetings with most of them for this week.
"I have spoken to Patrick who was due to play a match with Peterborough yesterday. We will sit down on Wednesday when he gets back and we’ll see what we can do."
