Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Liverpool travel to Napoli next in Champions League action before visiting Stamford Bridge, while Newcastle host Brighton & Hove Albion.
There goes the final whistle! Liverpool came back from behind to record a convincing 3-1 victory over Newcastle at Anfield and maintain their perfect start to the season. Willems hit a piledriver to stun the hosts and open the scoring, before a beautiful Mane curler and then a tap-in were accompanied by a composed Salah finish to put the game beyond doubt. It finishes 3-1 to Liverpool!
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 3-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED
90' + 2' Liverpool are passing it around methodically and the energy has been sapped from their opponents' legs. Both sides appear to have accepted the result as the end of the game inches nearer.
90' Muto puffs his cheeks out as the flag goes up against him for offside. He looked like he was on there and can certainly feel aggrieved.
88' NO GOAL! Shaqiri slides Firmino through on the right and he squares for Mane to tap in his hat-trick, only for the flag to go up against the Brazilian for offside!
87' SAVE! What a save by Dubravka! Firmino back-heels into the box for Salah, who is crowded out but Alexander-Arnold latches onto it, only to be denied by the onrushing goalkeeper from close-range!
86' Liverpool are set to become the fourth team to win 14 consecutive English top-flight matches, after Arsenal (14, August 2002), Manchester City (15, August 2019) and Manchester City again (18, December 2017), and will be the first team to do so while scoring more than one goal in each game.
X. Shaqiri
G. Wijnaldum
84' Former Newcastle midfielder Wijnaldum goes off to a warm reception and is replaced by Shaqiri, who will play in an advanced midfield role in the closing stages of the game.
82' WIDE! Mane meets the corner at the near post and flicks it across goal, but nobody is there to steer it in and it bounces wide of the far corner!
F. Fernández
F. Schär
80' The injured Schar is withdrawn for Fernandez at centre-back, meaning Bruce has no more substitutions left to bring Hayden off and the midfielder will have to struggle on to the end of the game.
79' Hayden and Schar - who picked up a knock earlier in the half - are both down and require treatment. Worrying signs for Newcastle.
77' Liverpool are in complete control now and are stroking the ball about with poise and precision. Newcastle are simply sat back in their shape, hoping for a mistake.
J. Milner
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain
75' Oxlade-Chamberlain is replaced in midfield by Milner, who spent four years at Newcastle early on in his career.
Roberto Firmino
Assist
72' Salah's composure and finish will rightly receive credit but the audacious flick Firmino pulled off to set his team-mate up was remarkable and equally worthy of praise.
Mohamed Salah
Goal
72' GOAL!! SALAH MAKES IT 3-1! Firmino sets Salah on his way and the Egyptian simply walks through the Newcastle defence before slotting it across Dubravka and into the corner! That will surely decide the game in Liverpool's favour.
71' Liverpool are just probing and probing with Newcastle camped in their own area. They're calm and patient as they wait for an opening.
69' Alexander-Arnold whips a free-kick into the back post and Van Dijk heads it across goal, but it's blocked away, before Salah's attempted strike is also charged down.
Javi Manquillo
E. Krafth
67' Manquillo comes on against his old club to replace Krafth at right wing-back and will link up with his fellow substitute.
Y. Muto
M. Almirón
67' Bruce makes a double-substitution and the first man to come on is Muto, who replaces Almiron to freshen up the attack.
65' CHANCE! The ball comes across from the left and Alexander-Arnold gets to it on the byline, with Salah alone in the middle. Dubravka commits himself and gets there to block the cross. Great work from the goalkeeper.
63' SAVE! Robertson gets all the way down the left to the near post and tries to poke it in, but Dubravka gets out and spreads himself well to send the ball past the far corner!
62' BLOCK! Salah tries to volley at goal from just inside the box but there's a wall of Newcastle defenders in his way and it's blocked away!
61' CHANCE! Alexander-Arnold is given too much space to curl in a quality cross that Firmino rises above Lascelles to head at goal, but Dubravka is down to keep it out.
60' Robertson gets down the left and cuts the back to the edge of the area, but Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't made the run and the chance goes begging.
58' Liverpool are ramping up the pressure now and Newcastle are simply clinging on. A third goal for Liverpool would surely kill the game.
56' SAVE! Alexander-Arnold is released down the right side of the box and he shoots towards Dubravka's near post. It looks for a moment like it might squirm under the keeper and in, but it goes behind for a corner!
54' MISS! Atsu goes on an excellent run down the left and beats Oxlade-Chamberlain before crossing to Krafth, who is free in the box! His first touch is a little heavy, however, and with Van Dijk putting him under pressure, the right-wing back rushes his half-volley and smashes it over the bar!
52' Almiron's curled ball into the box is inviting but Adrian is out to catch and sets his side on the counter through Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the Englishman's final ball is poor and the attack breaks down.
51' Salah cuts inside from the right and back-heels cleverly into the box, but Newcastle swarm on it and get it clear.
49' CLOSE! Mane shows composure and skill to skip away from his man before feeding Robertson, who crosses into Wijnaldum just inside the box. The midfielder takes a touch and hits it on the volley, but it's just inches over the top corner! What a goal that would have been!
47' BLOCK! Shelvey sends the ball long into the box and Almiron knocks down for Joelinton on the edge of the area. The striker holds it up and feeds the run of Krafth to his right, but Robertson charges the shot down and it's behind for a corner.
46' We're back underway for the second half!
Bruce would have been happy with the way his side started the encounter, but the Magpies could not maintain their intensity and, ultimately, Liverpool's quality and dominance paid dividends. It won't be easy for the visitors to haul themselves back into the game in the second half.
There goes the half-time whistle! Newcastle started brightly and took the lead through a Willems piledriver, but Liverpool hit back as Mane netted twice, scoring a sublime goal of his own for the equaliser. The Reds felt they should have had a penalty at 1-0 down as Lascelles hauled Matip to the ground from a corner, but they got themselves into the lead despite not being awarded the spot-kick. It's 2-1 to Liverpool at the break!
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 2-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED
45' + 3' Almiron goes on a mazy run down the right but didn't have a clear pass on and ends up being swamped by red shirts, before eventually losing the ball.
45' + 1' SHOT! Wijnaldum latches onto the ball on the edge of the crowded Newcastle box and tries to strike one into the bottom corner, but doesn't catch it right and it's a comfortable take for Dubravka.
44' The flag goes up against Newcastle for the fourth time today, with Almiron the offender this time. Schar is releasing some wonderful balls in behind the high line of Liverpool but his team-mates aren't timing their runs well enough to captialise.
42' Liverpool have now scored 100 Premier League goals against Newcastle - they are the third team to score at least 100 times against a single opponent in the competition, and the first to do so against a side who hasn't been ever-present (Arsenal 107 v Everton, Manchester United 100 v Everton).
S. Mané
Goal
40' GOAL!! MANE GIVES LIVERPOOL THE LEAD! Firmino wins the ball off Atsu in midfield and slides it through for Mane. Dubravka gets there first but can't hold the ball and it deflects off him and straight into Mane's path to tap into an empty net! It's 2-1!
39' Liverpool's front three had been looking very fluid, but Mane and Salah are likely to remain on their respective flanks following the introduction of Firmino.
Roberto Firmino
D. Origi
37' That change is made and it is Firmino who comes on for Origi, who looks to be feeling the effects of that early kick from Almiron.
35' Origi has gone down and is receiving treament. If he is unable to continue, as looks to be the case, Klopp may either introduce Firmino as a like-for-like change or move Oxlade-Chamberlain into a wide role and bring on another midfielder.
33' The ball comes in from the left and isn't cleared as Mane and Salah converge, but it's eventually hooked away past the lurking Origi and Newcastle survive.
32' OVER! Van Dijk takes on a shot from a long way out and blazes it well over the bar and into the stands. That's a poor effort and a poor decision.
31' Outstanding defensive work from Salah as he races back down the left to tackle Shelvey and prevent a counter-attack.
30' CHANCE! Another corner comes in and Matip meets it unobstructed this time, but can't direct it on target! Liverpool are in the ascendancy here.
A. Robertson
Assist
28' Robertson burst down the left, got between the lines and just got his pass away to Mane, whose great movement found him in a pocket of space to open himself up and have a shot at goal.
S. Mané
Goal
28' GOAL!! WHAT A GOAL FROM MANE! Liverpool are level again and it's a top-class finish from the Senegal forward. Robertson plays him into the box from the left and he opens up his body before rifling a shot into the very top-right corner of the net! That's a lovely strike and it's 1-1!
27' NO PENALTY! Lascelles hauls Matip down in the box from the corner but the referee - and eventually VAR - both say no penalty!
25' Fabinho dinks a superb ball behind Willems for the run of Alexander-Arnold but Dummett throws himself in the way of the cut-back that would have almost certainly led to a goal and the ball goes out for a corner.
24' WIDE! Alexander-Arnold whips a fantastic cross into the box for Origi, but Lascelles does superbly to flick it away from the striker. The defender then manages to put him off again as Mane sends it back in and Origi heads well wide.
22' Schar - whose passing has been pinpoint so far - pings another great ball in behind for Joelinton, but the striker had just strayed offside.
21' Liverpool start to up the intensity but Oxlade-Chamberlain ends up fouling Shelvey as he tries to jink his way through.
19' WIDE! Shelvey looks up and sees Adrian off his line. He goes for the spectacular lob but sends it miles wide of the target.
18' Willems whips a fine ball into the area and Almiron meets it with his head, but the connection is scruffy and it skews wide. The flag was up for offside anyway, so it wouldn't have counted.
17' OVER! Oxlade-Chamberlain drifts out to the right and curls a cross into the box, but it's a little behind Mane, who does well to generate some power on his header but can only send it over the bar.
15' Mane nutmegs Dummett with a clever piece of skill but his cross is blocked and so is Alexander-Arnold's follow-up. It comes out to Wijnaldum, who feeds Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the Englishman's dinked ball back in ends up on the roof on the Newcastle net.
13' Liverpool have yet to create a clear-cut chance, with attacks often breaking down around the edge of the packed Newcastle box.
11' WIDE! Oxlade-Chamberlain drives through midfield and lines one up before hitting a low strike across goal from outside the box, but he drags it wide of the far post. He hit that with plenty of power, but couldn't steer it on target.
9' Atsu drifts all the way across to the right-hand side this time and the ball is switched for Willems again, who has got the wrong side of Alexander-Arnold, but the flag goes up for offside.
C. Atsu
Assist
7' Atsu, who has looked bright in the opening stages of this game, caused problems as he drifted inside, taking Alexander-Arnold narrow with him. His movement created an opportunity that his left wing-back took with aplomb!
J. Willems
Goal
7' GOAL!!! NEWCASTLE TAKE THE LEAD! Atsu drifts into a central area, takes the ball down well and slips it out wide for Willems. The left-back cuts inside Alexander-Arnold with an excellent piece of skill and thumps a shot into the top-right corner on his weaker right foot! What a goal!
5' Atsu battles well as he scraps his way through on the left and slips one in behind for Joelinton, but Van Dijk is there to usher it back to Adrian and Liverpool can start again.
3' Mane has started the game as the central striker, with Origi lining up on the left wing. The Belgian slips as he looks to take on Almiron and stays down for a moment, but appears to be okay to carry on.
1' We're off! Liverpool get us underway at Anfield!
Liverpool have a strong home record against Newcastle, having not lost to them in their last 23 Premier League meetings (W19 D4), scoring in each one of those games and recording a total of 58 goals, while keeping 12 clean sheets. The Magpies have only endured a longer winless run away from home against Manchester United (29 games).
For the visitors, Bruce has made just one enforced change to the side that drew 1-1 with Watford last time out. Sean Longstaff is unavailable after suffering an ankle injury in training and is replaced by former Liverpool midfielder Shelvey. The youngster joins Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie, Dwight Gayle, Florian Lejeune, DeAndre Yedlin and Andy Carroll on a lengthy injury list.
Jurgen Klopp has made two changes to the side that beat Burnley 3-0 away from home. Henderson and Firmino both drop to the bench as the German rests the pair ahead of the Reds' Champions League clash with Napoli, with Oxlade-Chamberlain and Origi taking their places. Alisson and Naby Keita remain out through injury.
Newcastle United substitutes: Federico Fernandez, Yoshinori Muto, Karl Darlow, Ki Sung-yueng, Matthew Longstaff, Ciaran Clark, Javier Manquillo
Newcastle United XI (5-4-1): Martin Dubravka; Emil Krafth, Fabian Schar, Jamal Lascelles, Paul Dummett, Jetro Willems; Christian Atsu, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey, Miguel Almiron; Joelinton
Liverpool substitutes: Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson, Joseph Gomez, Caoimhin Kelleher, Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner
Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Adrian; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Georgino Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Divock Origi, Sadio Mane
The Magpies, on the other hand, will have one eye on another shock away victory against a top-six side after beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 last month.
Liverpool will be hoping to maintain their perfect Premier League start and make it five wins from their first five games as they host Steve Bruce's Newcastle this afternoon.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield.
