The referee brings the match to a close and Barcelona claim the Spanish Super Cup! It was never in doubt really. Sevilla had their moments and certainly didn't lie down, but they were at times far too open and attack-minded that Barca picked them off. Sampaoli's men still have much to improve on, but for the hosts it was business as usual, with Lionel Messi in sparkling form yet again. However, the nice change of pace this time saw Arda star too, netting twice to breathe life into his Barca career.
JUST WIDE! Great play by Messi, as he toys with Gonzalez, turning him inside-out before firing just past the left-hand post.
Pablo Sarabia
Yellow Card
Sarabia goes into the referee's book now, as he tugs Messi back making no attempt to get the ball.
Vitolo and Alba clash again, with the Barca man fouled in cynical fashion again. This time the left-back also tries to provoke his counterpart by attempting to trip him, but the Sevilla star just about manages to resist.
Yellow Card
Yellow card Víctor Machín Pérez
Out comes the yellow card now, as Vitolo catches Alba late. The winger just looks frustrated.
Things are petering out a little here, with Barca sitting back, Sevilla not looking overly enthuses and everyone knowing this is already over and it has been for a long, long time.
Sevilla are seeing much more of the ball at the moment, but you get the impression that's more down to Barca being down to 10 men and letting them come on to them. Either way, the home side don't look particularly uncomfortable.
Good play by Sevilla, as Kranevitter barges Munir off the ball and feeds Mariano up the right. He crosses right across the face of goal, but Vietto, Vazquez and Konoplyanka all miss it.
There he goes. Mascherano goes down again and informs the Barca bench that he needs to go off. With the home side out of substitutes, they'll have to continue with 10 men.
Bad news for Barca here. Mascherano has pulled up and looks to be hurt. He might not be able to last here.
Fierce effort! Rakitic is given plenty of freedom in midfield and he lets rip with a 35-yards drive. Rico gets down to his left and palms it away.
Sergi Samper
Final change for Barcelona sees the talented Samper replace Busquets in midfield.
I. Rakitić
Denis Suárez
Another Barca change now, as Rakitic replaces Denis in midfield. The former Sevilla youngster put in a good display.
L. Vietto
J. Correa
Substitution Carlos Joaquín Correa Luciano Vietto
Great play by Munir, who latches on to a pass into the area and shapes to cross, but cuts back on himself, much to the surprise of Correa who goes sliding straight past him. Gonzalez is there to cut out the following delivery, though.
Vitolo is living dangerously there! The winger tracks the run of Alba, but in cutting out a cross from the right he actually chests the ball past Rico and towards goal. Luckily he continues his run and clears, but that was close!
Better from Sevilla. Mariano does well on the right and finds the run of Sarabia inside the area. He evades the attentions of Alba, but his pass into the goal mouth is cut out.
Sevilla just cannot stop Messi today. The little magician is everywhere and is tearing the visitors apart. This time he latches on to a loose ball on the edge of theawy side's box, shapes to shoot and leaves Kranevitter in a knot, before then seeing his eventual effort sail well over.
Messi's free-kick crashes against the wall and then Vitolo does brilliantly to wrestle the ball off Munir, hold him off, dribble past Arda and Denis before clearing the danger.
Great run by Umtiti, as the centre-back bursts forward from defence, charging past countless Sevilla midfielders before then squaring to Munir on the edge of the box. The young attacker is hauled down by Vazquez, winning a free-kick right on the edge of the area.
W. Ben Yedder
Another Sevilla change now, as Vitolo comes on to replace Ben Yedder in attack.
Jordi Alba
L. Digne
Barca change now at left-back. Digne, who has had another good game, makes way and is replaced by Alba.
This is very much a case of damage limitation now for Sevilla. They've gifted Barcelona two goals so far today and few would bet against more with the way they've been playing at the back.
F. Vázquez
Sampaoli's response to that goal is to haul off Ganso, who has been pretty anonymous on his full debut. Franco Vazquez takes his place.
L. Messi
GOAL!!! IT'S A THIRD! Digne is given the freedom of the Camp Nou on the left after latching on to Gomes' pass. He then clips a cross into the area and Messi rises above Mariano to nod past Rico, who probably could have done better.
L. Digne
Good play by Digne, who bides his time, picks his spot and finds Messi in the area. A fine cross.
WHAT A MISS! Arda is presented with a glorious chance to clinch his hat-trick, latching on to Messi's flicked pass. With just Rico to beat he attempts to lift the ball over the goalkeeper, but he sticks it over from 18 yards.
The second corner comes to nothing, though, as Sarabia's delivery is poor. Barca then try to catch Sevilla on the counter, as Messi toys with Mariano, waits for support and then gives the ball away.
Sarabia's initial corner causes a bit of a scramble, as Barca just about manage to clear their lines and then Correa wins a second set-piece in quick succession.
Sevilla are back on the front foot with Mariano now, as Correa finds him on the right. The full-back links with Sarabia and then wins a corner from Digne.
Rico's kicking is a known weakness of the goalkeeper and it had been poor today. Barca really exploited that then, though whether that was what they were trying to do is open to debate.
A. Turan
GOAL!!! BARCA GET A SECOND! And it's Arda again! The home side's pressing forces Sevilla back on themselves down their left, with Gonzalez passing back to Rico. The goalkeeper is pressured by Munir and his clearance is poor, with the ball crashing off one player and falling kindly for the Turkey international, who clips a brilliant first-time effort over the stopper and into the goal.
Off we go for the second half.
The referee brings a thoroughly entertaining first half to a close with Barca 1-0 up, but that scoreline essentially ends things as a contest on aggregate, with the home side already 2-0 before kick-off. Sevilla have given a good account of themselves so far, playing some vibrant, attacking football, but Messi and company look capable of picking them off every time they attack. It's difficult to see this staying 1-0.
OFF THE CROSSBAR! Sevilla almost pull level! Mariano's cross comes all the way through to Mercado, whose looping diving header completely beats Bravo, only for the frame of the goal to rescue the goalkeeper.
Good move from Sevilla. Sarabia, Ben Yedder and Correa link up, before Mercado is invited forward up the left. He plays a pass back to the edge of the area for his Argentine compatriot, but the youngster steps over it and no one anticipates the dummy, allowing Barca to end the attack.
Konoplyanka has been a road to nowhere so far. This time the Ukrainian passes inside to Correa in a good position, but what should be a simple ball makes the Argentine do too much work, resulting in his own effort on the stretch to find Ben Yedder is too late and the Tunisian strays offside.
Sevilla survive! Great cross by Digne, as the Frenchman whips the ball into the centre after receiving a fine Messi pass. Denis latches on to it at the back post, but his scuffed volley strikes Gonzalez.
Back come Barca, who chuck bodies forward and work the ball backwards and forwards between the two flanks, evading Sevilla with ease. Messi is in charge again - the away side are just giving him way too much room.
Chance wasted! Sarabia robs Buquets and leaves Sevilla with 4v3 in favour of the visitors, but he opts to charge towards goal and rifle well wide instead of feeding Konoplyanka to his left, who was in a far better position to keep that attack moving.
SAVED! Iborra steps up to take the kick but it is easy for Bravo, who dives to his right and palms the ball away in straightforward fashion. Bravo!
Penalty Miss
A poor penalty from Iborra, who hit it at the perfect height for Bravo and the goalkeeper had little trouble.
C. Bravo
Penalty Save
SAVED! Iborra steps up to take the kick but it is easy for Bravo, who dives to his right and palms the ball away in straightforward fashion. Bravo!
S. Umtiti
Yellow Card
The referee belatedly brings the yellow card out and shows it to Umtiti for that handball.
PENALTY TO SEVILLA! The visitors make ground up the right flank and Marian crosses into the centre. Correa meets the delivery with a first-time effort which smacks against Umtiti's arm and the referee points to the spot straight away.
Better from the visitors. Correa and Iborra link up well on the edge of the box, with the Argentine getting played into the box. He keeps the attack alive under pressure, getting forced back to pass to Ganso. The Brazilian cleverly shifts the ball away from Busquets and then slips a through pass in behind Digne for Sarabia, but has a little too much on it and Barca get a goal-kick.
An opening for Sevilla now, as Ben Yedder does well out on the left to control a throw-in and play the ball inside to Konoplyanka. The winger runs at the defence and tries to shoot from a tight angle, seeing his effort deflected behind.
Sampaoli needs to change something here. Again Barca charge forward, as Denis runs at the exposed defence. He slips a pass to his left, with several team-mates lining up hoping for an opportunity. It comes to Gomes, who attempts a left-footed drive, but it goes wide of the right-hand post. He should have at least tested Rico there.
Another incredible pass from Messi, as he manages to pick out the run of Arda after only just coming in off the right. Luckily for Sevilla, though, the Turk is offside.
Correa isn't happy with the referee now, as the midfielder looked to turn and burst free in behind the Barca defence but couldn't get past the strength of Umtiti. The referee is adamant that the centre-back's actions were fair, though.
Messi is being given so much space at the moment. The forward drops deep to pick up possession and is allowed the time to pick his head up and spot the run of Vidal. Unfortunately for the hosts the right-back's touch sees the ball go behind him, but it was another warning for Sevilla.
Sevilla's pressing and intensity were very impressive at times on Sunday, but they aren't showing much of that today. They actually look a bit tired, which isn't a great omen when only 18 minutes in against Barcelona.
ALMOST A SECOND! Brilliant football by Barca! Denis' lovely cross-field pass picks out Vidal's charging run into the right side of the area. He latches on to it and lays it off for Messi, who drills a low left-footed volley agonisingly past the post. Rico didn't stand a chance.
Unsurprisingly that goal has rather taken a bit of the flow out of Sevilla, who were previously looking pretty impressive. Now it is Barca dictating the ball - the visitors' three-man defence looks incredibly exposed.
Brilliant run by Correa. The young midfielder charges forward through the middle with two team-mates for company. He opts to ignore Sarabia to his right and go it alone, skipping past Umtiti and getting a shot away from a tight angle, but the Frenchman gets a vital touch on it to take the sting out of his effort.
L. Messi
Fine play by Messi, as the Argentine glides on the ball, linking with Gomes and then playing the perfect through pass into the area for Arda.
A. Turan
GOAL!!! BARCA BREAK THE DEADLOCK! Somewhat against the run of play Barcelona open the scoring on the night and further extend their aggregate lead. Messi is allowed to pick up possession just outside the area and feed Arda into the area and the Turk makes no mistake in beating Rico. So much for Sevilla's impressive start!
Well, we've certainly been treated to a very lively start so far, particularly from Sevilla, who are quicker to everything at the moment and moving the ball forward extremely quickly. They began with a similar intensity on Sunday before faltering, but there's already something a little more assertive about them today, particularly with regards to their final pass.
BARCA ESCAPE! Good pressure from the visitors. The first corner is worked to the left, where Ganso sees another delivery turned behind. From the second set-piece, the ball is kept in the danger zone and then nodded to the near post, where Iborra's header forces Bravo into action. Great start by Sevilla!
SAVE! The first real chance falls to the visitors, as Correa breaks up the left and prods a clever pass in behind Mascherano for Ben Yedder, who sees his decent finished turned around the post by Bravo.
Well, that's a feisty first tackle, as Sarabia goes flying in on Vidal and catches the full-back. Free-kick given to the hosts, but the Sevilla winger escapes an early booking.
Off we go! Sevilla get us started in Barcelona.
The two sides are now out on the pitch, with kick-off just a few moments away.
Sampaoli and Sevilla will be desperate to make amends today. They've lost their last two games after being beaten by Barca on Sunday and Real Madrid last week. They've made a host of changes, bringing in several new players eager to show what they've got, while the hosts could potentially be sloppy, thinking they've already got their hands on the trophy.
On the other side, there are also a host of changes for Sevilla. Jorge Sampaoli names the most makeshift of defences, with right-backs Mariano and Gabriel Mercado starting either side of Diego Gonzalez, one of the club's better-rated players from the 'B' team. Joaquin Correa, Ganso and Pablo Sarabia all come in for their first starts for the club in midfield, while Ben Yedder - another new face - leads the line in place of Luciano Vietto, who has disappointed in his two official appearances so far.
Former Sevilla star Aleix Vidal starts at right-back for the hosts, while Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne also slotting into the defence, with the former making his debut. In midfield Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes come in for full official debuts too, while Munir - a scorer on Sunday - and Arda support Messi in attack
This is Barcelona's to lose. The reigning Liga champions and Copa del Rey champions claimed a 2-0 victory just a few days ago in Sevilla, with Lionel Messi and Munir El Haddadi netting in Andalusia. It's given Luis Enrique's men a commanding lead ahead of this return leg and the coach has unsurprisingly made a few changes.
Sevilla subs: Churripi, Munoz, Vitolo, Kiyotake, N'Zonzi, Vazquez, Vietto.
Sevilla starting XI (3-4-3): Rico; Mariano, Mercado, Diego Gonzalez; Kranevitter, Iborra, Correa, Ganso; Sarabia, Konoplyanka, Ben Yedder.
Barcelona subs: Masip, Alba, Sergi, Samper, Pique, Rakitic, Suarez.
Barcelona starting XI (4-3-3): Bravo; Vidal, Mascherano, Umtiti, Digne; Busquets, Denis, Gomes; Arda, Munir, Messi.
First of all let's introduce the teams...
Hello and welcome to the LIVE coverage of the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup between Barcelona and Sevilla. La Liga champions Barca hold a 2-0 lead heading into this contest thanks to a fine performance at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday and are firm favourites to lift the first title of the season.
