Yanga have now fallen into the CAF Confederation Cup and they will await the play-off draw

Yanga have been knocked out of the CAF Champions League by Township Rollers on a 2-1 aggregate after playing a goalless draw in Gaborone, Botswana in the second leg tie.

In the first leg which was held in Dar es Salaam on March 6, Yanga were defeated 2-1. 

The hosts who played with full confidence in front of their owner Jagdish Shah tried to score goals in several occasions but the visitors stayed steady until the end.

Yanga’s Obrey Chirwa missed the best chance for the visitors after racing into the box to receive a clinical pass from Pappy Tshishimbi but his effort went direct to the side net.

George Lwandamina decided to leave out of the starting line-up Ibrahim Ajib who came in after 65 minutes to replace Thaban Kamusoko who had a quiet game.

Following their exit, Yanga have now fallen into the CAF Confederation Cup and they will await the play-off draw which will be held on April 26.
