Orlando Pirates midfielder Vincent Pule has claimed the club's Player and Goal of the Month awards for September.
The 26-year-old winger, who is now a South Africa international, was in good form in September - scoring two goals and had the same number of assists.
His form helped the Buccaneers move into second place on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) standings and he also featured for Bafana Bafana in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Libya in Durban.
Pule expressed his delight at winning the two awards, just four months after joining the Buccaneers.
“It’s a good feeling when you are playing well and scoring goals, especially when that helps the team to do well," Pule said on the club's official website.
"To be recognised by the fans for that contribution makes me very proud because as players, we do it for them. We want to make the fans happy,” he continued.
Pule's sensational long-range strike against Baroka FC in a PSL match saw him pick up the fan vote in the Goal of the Month competition.
“I’m very happy to win the awards for September and I know they will motivate me to do even better in the months to come,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch was also one of the team's top performers in September - netting two goals.
The South Africa international fell a few votes shy of Pule in the online polls, according to the club's official website.
Pule is currently nursing an injury which he picked up during Bucs' 0-0 draw with Lamontville Golden Arrows in Soweto earlier this month.
Pirates will take on Chippa United in the 2018 Telkom Knockout Cup round of 16 match at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
