Victor Wanyama named toughest opponent in EPL

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has named Victor Wanyama as the toughest player he faced in English Premier League last season.

Kante, whose side pulled a 2-1 win against Wanyama’s Tottenham Hotspurs last November before Spurs overturned the result with a 2-0 triumph in January, has admitted that the Kenyan captain and his Spurs’ team mate Mousa Dembele, were the toughest opponents he faced in his first but successful spell with Chelsea, that saw him scoop PFA Player of the Year as the Blues lifted EPL title with a new manager.

"In midfield Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele are so strong," Kante told official Chelsea website.

The Frenchman also named Spurs, who finished second behind Antonio Conte’s men, as the most challenging team. “I would say Tottenham. We had two very tight games against them in the Premier League,” Kante, 26 said of Tottenham.

Kante lifted the EPL title with Leicester before crossing over to Stamford Bridge to complete a double with two different teams.
