Selangor head coach Maniam Pachaiappan revealed to Goal the members of his squad who will be retained for the 2018 season, as well as local players who they have just signed.
In a telephone conversation, he revealed the squad make up of his team for the 2018 season.
"We have signed Joseph Kalang Tie, as well as Azamuddin [Akil]. These are among the two experienced players we have signed for 2018.
"Even though we don't have [a big] budget and won't be using (signing) five foreigners, we've promoted six young players from the President's Cup (U21) squad.
"And I'm confident that with a few experienced players, Razman [Roslan], Amri [Yahyah], Azlan (Norazlan Razali), Azhan (Khairulazhan Khalid), combined with the junior players, we believe we can do well in 2018.
"Of course we want to do better than this year," explained the former AirAsia FC head coach.
Harian Metro earlier this week revealed that six of their President's Cup boys, who won the title this year, have been promoted to the senior team. They are Amirul Haziq Rasmizal, Haziq Ridwan, Syukri Azman, Azizul Baharuddin, Kugan Dhevarajoo and Tamil Maran Manimaran. At the start of the 2017 season, the Red Giants had also promoted around the same number of players from their 2016 President's Cup squad, to the senior team.
On top of the names mentioned, they have also been reported to retain Spanish striker Rufino Segovia, midfielder Halim Zainal and winger Syahmi Safari.
They meanwhile have parted ways with Indonesia international Andik Vermansah, defenders Ugo Ukah, Bunyamin Umar, Adam Nor Azlin and Rizal Fahmi Rosid, long-serving winger Fittri Shazwan, on-loan striker Nurshamil Abdul Ghani, third-pick goalkeeper Zarif Irfan Hashimuddin and forward Francis Forkey Doe.
