Sarfo denies Hearts of Oak approach in Ghana Premier League transfer window

Smouha SC striker Stephen Sarfo has rubbished reports that he is on the verge of joining Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak in the ongoing transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who joined Smouha from Berekum Chelsea in January, arrived in the country last week following the end of Egypt Premier League season and has been linked with the Phobians after failing to command a starting role in the Blues setup.

"There's no truth in the rumours that I'm joining Hearts in the second round of the season. I still have contract with Smouha SC, with two and a half years left," Sarfo told Oyerepa FM.

"I'm still contracted to Smouha so how do I even hold talks with another club when I know it goes against the rules. Moreover, there has never been an approach from them.

"I will only be available to join another club that will need my services in the future when Smouha are contacted and they give me the green light to hold negotiations. Our season has ended and I'm back in Ghana but will not play in the Ghana Premier League," he added.

Sarfo was topscorer for Ghana team that won the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations.
