Despite SuperSport United’s recent resurgence, they are refusing to jump the gun in terms of their Premier Soccer League (PSL) title aspirations.

Matsatsantsa have won five of their last six league games losing just once to Baroka FC which has propelled them right back into the title race.

The Tshwane-base outfit are now fifth on the league table, five points adrift of log-leaders and cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nonetheless, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams believes it still far too early to entertain the idea of challenging for the title especially with games against Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns still to come.

"It's still early days as there's still a lot of games to come like Chiefs and then Sundowns after the international break," Williams told reporters.

"Also, we haven't beaten Sundowns in like four or five years, so it's going to be tough,” he added.

"If we collect maximum points from those two games - and hopefully we do - then we can start speaking about the league but we don't want to jump the gun - we have to take it one game at a time," he explained.

It has certainly been a major turnaround at SuperSport as they were not as convincing earlier in the season.

"A month ago, people were speculating about the coach getting fired and now they're speaking about us challenge - so that's how quickly things can change," he concluded.

SuperSport are set to take on Amakhosi on Friday, and victory or defeat for either side could make or break their title challenge.
