The Masandawana star is certainly not pleased about how his club have dealt with the reported interest in him

Mamelodi Sundowns star Percy Tau continues to remain Awol as he looks to force a move away from the club.

Tau has in recent times been linked with moves to French giants Monaco and English Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion with the latter having made a mammoth offer in the region of R34 million according to reports in the Sunday Times this past weekend.

However, as was the case for Tau’s teammate Keagan Dolly prior to his move to Montpellier, it appears that Sundowns are reluctant to part with one of their most prized players. This has apparently not set well with the 24-year-old attacker who has reportedly gone Awol.

While the rest of the Brazilians team reported for a pre-season camp held in Rustenburg earlier in the week, Tau has been a notable absentee. According to TimesLive, Tau is yet to return from the break as he looks to force Sundowns’ hand and complete a move abroad.

Meanwhile, it has been reported further that the 2017/18 Premier Soccer League (PSL) Footballer of the Season award winner’s antics has severely tarnished relations with Masandawana.

Nonetheless, when pressed for comment regarding the absence of Tau and whether or not the talisman would face some sort of punishment, Sundowns spokesman Thulani Thuswa revealed that the former African champions will not comment in public about the player.

The publication further revealed that attempts to reach the Tau’s agent Mmatsatsi Sefalafala also proved futile. Tau’s absence now gives Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane an even bigger headache as they begin preparation for the Caf Champions League where they are set to travel to Togo before taking on Kaizer Chiefs in the Shell Helix Cup.

Mosimane will do all this without the services of Khama Billiat who recently jumped ship and joined the Soweto giants ahead of the 2018/19 season
