Qatar Stars League: Xavi and Al Sadd prepare for Qatar Clasico against champions Al Rayyan

Following a break in the Qatar league, Al Sadd turn their attention to Al Rayyan.

Qatar Stars League side Al Sadd has returned to training ahead of their crunch round 24 Qatar Clasico match against Al Rayyan.

The Al Sadd squad underwent their first training session following an 11-day rest, due to the break in the QSL season for international football.

The side, led by Spanish midfielder Xavi has a number of notable absentees who are all currently representing Qatar including Hassan Haydoos, Ibrahim Majid and goalkeeper Saad Al Dosari. Whilst Iranian international defender Morteza Pouraliganji has joined up with his country ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

One player already confirmed to be out for the Qatar Clasico is defender Mohammed Kasola who is set for a one game suspension, after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season in the Wolves last league game, a 0-0 draw against Umm Salal.

Al Sadd are currently in second place in the QSL standings two points behind league leaders Lekhwiya with three games left in the season to play.
