Injured Gor Mahia defender Wellington Ochieng is nearing a full return with only a week in his final physiotherapy session.
Ochieng’ twisted and injured his leg while turning out for K’Ogalo in the 2-0 win over Bandari at Machakos Stadium on March 3, a setback that has kept him out of the game for close to two months.
The right-back, who began his therapy sessions about two weeks ago, is set to begin light training in the coming weeks with his final therapy session set for next week.
“Working hard with my physiotherapist to come back stronger. Last physiotherapy sessions will be next week. Thanks for your prayers,” Ochieng said on his social media page accompanied by a video of him going through the session.
This will be some good news to Gor Mahia Coach Dylan Kerr, who is also expecting Burundian Karim Nizigiyimana, to return to the squad ahead of the second round of the Kenyan Premier League.
The availability of the duo will be a boost to Kerr, who has been battling with fixture congestion in the domestic league and Caf Confederation Cup.
