Olympiacos bid for Amiens and Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu

Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu could be on the move yet again with Greek giants Olympiacos keeping close eye on him at Amiens SC.

The 25-year-old has been on the books of Amiens SC for over a year now, but his stellar displays for the French Ligue 1 side have not gone unnoticed.

Olympiacos have reportedly submitted a bid in the region of €7 million to lure the South Africa international from Amiens before the closing of the transfer window.

However, it's unclear at this stage if the French outfit will entertain let alone alone accept the enticing offer.

Zungu was one of Amiens star players last season, making 28 appearances in all official competitions and finding the back of the net once.

Olympiacos are one of the respected teams in Europe having been a name for themselves in Uefa competitions.

The Greek giants will be taking part in this season's Uefa Europa League, and this could excite Zungu even more.

The Duduza-born midfielder, who began his professional career as a striker, has been in Europe since 2016.

He first played for Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Zungu then moved to France after a season to sign for Amiens SC, who struggled in the bottom half of Ligue 1 log for the better part of the previous campaign.

Not so long ago, Zungu was reportedly on the radar of French giants Monaco, but the proposed deal appears to be off the table with Olympiacos now in the picture.
