Nottingham Forest’s Adlene Guedioura eyes early return after cheekbone injury

Adlene Guedioura is confident of an early return after fracturing his cheekbone in Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The 32-year-old midfielder was replaced just before half time as Aitor Karanka's men forced Wigan to a share of spoils.

The former Middlesbrough player who has featured in all Forest’s games this season, took to the social media to provide update on the injury and vows to ‘come back stronger as ever.’

“Glad with that point taken and the never say die attitude in a scrappy game,” Guedioura posted on Instagram.

“Thank you very much for your lovely mess. I feel okay, just a small fracture to the cheekbone that keeps me as handsome as you could see.

“The recovery might not be long, I'll come back stronger as ever.”

Although it is unlikely when the midfielder will return to action, but he will expectedly be missing when Nottingham Forest clash with Birmingham City on August 25.
