Arsenal, Juventus and Liverpool have also been linked with the 22-year-old while reports have also suggested Bayern Munich are not out of the race.

Despite all that, Heidel is unaware of any deal for the player to leave being in place, but believes Goretzka will make a call on his future in the near future.

"I think if Schalke had no chance to keep him I would be the first to know that," he told SportBild. "But I haven't received that kind of information until now.

"Leon will make a decision soon without us building any pressure on him."

Goretzka's form has helped Schalke climb to second in the Bundesliga table, with Domenico Tedesco's side six points behind leaders Bayern.
